THE EXCELLENT HEART DESIRE.
You know, our relationship with God could be very exciting, especially when we crave and desire a very cordial relationship with Him. Consequently, when we're committed in such a way that we wholeheartedly discuss and turn over our burdens and knotty issues with the Lord, He, in turn reassures us of His opinion and direction. Knowing that, we get so close that nothing puzzles or confuses us, since we ALWAYS get to know the mind of the Lord. His thoughts towards us are always good and never evil or negative, guiding us along the best pathway for our lives.
Psalm 32:8.
The LORD says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you."
Of course, it depends on many factors, considering where we are in the Lord, the intensity of the pressure on us, and many more. That's why problems are usually the birth canal of success, because somewhere within those seemingly insurmountable problems we bring before the Lord in prayer, based on His Word, we hear His gentle, confident, accurate guidance and direction to uncommon breakthroughs and victories far beyond our natural capacity. The greater the darkness, obstacle or barrier, the greater the reward, blessing and benefit on the opposite side!
Proverbs 3:5, 6.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will direct your paths.
That's why it's pertinent that we strive to hear from the Lord clearly about our career, business, ministry, relationship and crucial or even minor decisions. Because when you do hear the Lord talk specifically about your issues, (and HE WILL TELL YOU) you won't be thinking or talking about settling with just any good ideas or so called expert opinions, knowing God loves you too much to give faulty or substandard counsel, but excellent, first class wisdom and counsel with eternal benefits and consequences. That's how we get to know the difference between depending on our or people's wisdom and understanding and trusting and receiving God's wisdom. THERE'S DEFINITELY A HUGE DIFFERENCE AND IT'S PRICELESS.
James 1:5.
If you need wisdom. If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask Him, and He will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking.
The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children and heirs of God, and as heirs, we are entitled to divine direction, guidance and assistance. The above scripture says GOD WILL GLADLY TALK TO US, DIRECT US ARIGHT AND SO GLADLY MEET OUR NEEDS. EVERY GOOD PARENT DOES THAT, AND WILL NEVER WITHOLD GOOD FROM THEIR CHILDREN, BECAUSE IT'S THEIR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY AS RESPONSIBLE PARENTS! Since we ALREADY know this, we need to approach our Heavenly Father asking boldly and confidently based on Scriptures. Because anything less than that that reflects HESITATION, FEAR, TIMIDITY OR FOOLISHNESS is sin, the terrible sin of UNBELIEF, distrust and spiritual instability. That's why many times when we think we have been asking for too long WITHOUT receiving our desired request, the sin of unbelief has been the primary hindrance all along! Yet, we lay the blame on God for the delay, adding sin to sin. This is an appropriate time to repent and put our total trust and confidence in God's promised Word when we ask in prayer.
1 John 5:14, 15.
Now, this is the CONFIDENCE that we have in God, that if we ask anything according to His will (Word), He hears us. And if we that He hears us, whatever we ask, we KNOW that He will give us what we ask for.
Nothing delays, destroys or stops God's great plans, protection and provision for us like following our fickle feelings, fear and fretting, because we will never find God there. Faith in God and His Word makes us superior to emotional, physical or natural manifestations. The sooner we learn and are at peace with this, the better for us and THE UNSEEN MULTITUDES WATCHING US ALL THE TIME, TO LEARN ABOUT GOD. How we live our lives, will be the only Bible many unbelievers will ever read to decide how to, or whether to serve and surrender their lives to God! Whether we know it or not, whether we like it or not, we are like a light in pitch darkness, in a dark world, wishing everyone mind their own business and never watch us and the way we live! And then in our selfish, heartless, careless and unfaithful disposition, we turn off our lights, righteous living, and start living like the world. WELL, WE CAN'T DO, WE ARE CHILDREN OF LIGHT!
We must start learning to think like God, since He said, (and we should have known from experience) that His ways and thoughts are higher than ours. However, this requires all the discipline and continual dependence on the help of the Holy Spirit. First, we must say goodbye to our romance with our too familiar natural inclinations, through our flesh. In scriptural, spiritual terms, it’s called death to self. It’s a very painful but HIGHLY BENEFICIAL death to our flesh, we die while are still alive. The crucifixion or mortification of our fleshly, sinful desires, in order to live the glorious life God has for us, His children and ambassadors on earth.
Colossians 3:5.
So put to death (mortify) the sinful, earthly nature, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual sin, impurity, lust, and shameful desires. Don’t be greedy for the good things of this life, for that is idolatry. (Use things as tools to serve God, minister and meet needs.)
To mortify or put to death our sinful fleshly desires is like taking a sharp knife with our eyes open, without any form of anesthesia, and then consciously begin cutting off bit by bit, various sections of our body until we're dead and lifeless. Ouch!
I'M EXAGGERATING OF COURSE.
But thank God we have the help of the Holy Spirit who makes it thorough, painless, and highly beneficial, ushering us into our glorious destiny in Christ Jesus.
Our greatest desire should be to live as closely as possible with God. Closer and far more cordial than any physical relationship we will ever have. The benefits are out of this world into bringing Heaven down to earth. That's an excellent desire. That is the divine capacity of the saints, the Church of Jesus Christ to initiate a global mega revival, that's so imminent.
Galatians 5:16-18.
But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).
For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do.
But if you are guided (led) by the [Holy] Spirit, you are not subject to the Law.
Hallelujah!
