Thirty Years
“It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove.
Then a voice came from heaven, ‘You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’” Mark 1:9-11, NKJV.
Yes. “Well pleased.”
God the Father well pleased with his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
But Jesus had not yet begun his ministry of the Gospel of salvation.
So what was the Father well pleased about?
Thirty years of Jesus’ life on earth as a man.
Thirty years of being subject to all the temptations the world could put before him.
Thirty years in which he was “In all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”
Hebrews 4:15. NKJV.
No wonder that his Father could say “Well pleased.”
Yes! Jesus’ thirty years of sinlessness before he began his ministry are just as vital for our salvation as the three years of his public ministry.
Praise the Name of Jesus!
