Poetry
Your throne, O God, is forever,
And the scepter of uprightness;
From Your kingdom, You endeavor,
Glory that shines with such brightness.
You have loved having righteousness,
And anointed us with oil;
You have hated the wickedness,
That causes chaos and toil.
You, O Lord laid the foundation,
Of Heaven and earth at the start;
With Your hands of all creation,
Spoke through Your voice that You impart.
They may perish but You remain,
They will wear out like a garment;
After death, we will feel no pain,
Standing before You for judgment.
Like a robe, You will roll them up,
Like a garment they will be changed;
As You give us a living cup,
A pure white gown will be arranged.
No ending will be for the years,
Your foes a footstool for Your feet;
As You cast away all the fears,
Giving us comfort as we meet.
Are we ministering spirits?
For being heirs of salvation;
Living righteously with merits,
Avoiding Satan’s temptation.
