An interesting scene was created on April twenty-nine, twenty-twenty-four. This scene calls for some thoughts.
What was it?
A man bought half of a plot of land. He came together with the seller of the land for certain discussions. They knew better.
After the discussions, a woman who was a seller of alcoholic drinks and who happened to be a landlady in the community went to join the two men, she encouraged the buyer thus, "Please o, take the matter of building the site seriously. Do not spend all the money you have on pleasures." He added, soliloquizing, "He looks like one of our customers. May he be able to build it." She told herself.
One thing is that the alcohol seller and the buyer didn't meet anywhere before that time. On the other hand, she was able to identify those who patronize their kind of business by their looks.
This reminds us of the conversation between the Lord God of Israel and His faithful servant, Prophet Samuel on the day that David was anointed as a king over the nation of Israel.
"And it came to pass, when they came, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD's anointed is before him.
But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." 1 Samuel 16:6-7.
Man looks at the outward part of a person and concludes. They may be wrong sometimes, most especially when it comes to a matter of the spirit.
One truth is that a man's physical outlook says a lot about him. This was what the Alcohol seller saw in a man she was never familiar with. "He looks like one of our customers."
Beloved, what is our concern about this issue? It should open our eyes to ask ourselves, "What does my physical outlook say about me?" Does it portray me as a child of God or Satan's representative?
Do not give an occasion for the enemies of God, as His Saint, to blaspheme the name of the Lord when they see your outlook. If your outlook takes after a whore, do you think that you will be rated as one of the Saints of God? "No!" is the answer.
A recreated heart will surely manifest in the physical outlook of a man. Beloved Pilgrim, do not allow the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme the name of the Lord through you. Beware of your outward dressing and conduct.
Apostle Peter puts it succinctly,
"You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God." 1 Peter 3:4, NLT.
Let your physical outlook point Jesus Christ to the world through you. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
